Really quick... Got to get to the lot and check things out...
Cantera fireplace in the living room. Can't remember if I posted this one before. It's big, heavy, and pretty. The metal all gets covered up with cantera tiles.
This was the first sample wall they made with the stucco sample on display. The rock is called Moss Rock from OK. Has moss and other things growing on it. It's pretty dark, heavy, and hard.
First coat of sanding sealer on the stain. Dark, but the color is really coming out with the sealer and sanding. Not too many recent pictures inside because it's a chemical wasteland in there with the fumes. My hats off to those guys working 8 hour days in a respirator. We can only go in there for about 10 minutes at a time before we come stumbling out.
Outside, they have the stone about halfway done. This is the master. The windows now have the sills on them not pictured here, and they are really cool. Stone will get a stone ledge where it transitions to stucco.
You can see the sills from a distance in this picture. The whole thing is looking good. This is the master bath with the courtyard below. I can't get a picture yet of the whole house, but with the leaves starting to fall that may change....
Almost halfway complete here on the garage. We had to get the cedar brackets up there before the stone, which wraps around them. Those little garage windows will get a stucco band around them and sills.
Finishing up the top of the garage last night. These guys are masters of their trade. They walk around and survey the stones to pick out just the right one, or else they trim them with their stone hammer to get them just right... You can see the top of the arch in this picture as well. That will eventually get a cedar shutter inside, but I won't make that yet because I haven't found hinge and latch hardware I like sufficiently.
This is a little closet window on the east side of the house. The foam sill is covered with stucco and mesh. We are thinking of having them color the sills with a cantera color.
Quatrafoil window in the works. They filled the area with foam, and then used rasps to carve out the shape.
This mast, plus a head dress and chaps, were hanging around. One of the stucco guys does some ritual dance. I hope they aren't putting a curse on anything...
Ok, got to go...
